Architects, Quantity Surveyors, and Structeral Engineers

Saturday 14th of March 2009 saw the group group take large steps forward towards renovating the hut.

Dave Evans (Architect), Kieren Brennan (Quantity Surveyor), Helen Fisher (Local Councilor), John Leech (MP), 306 supporters and leaders attended a meeting at the scout hut. The aim was to decide upon the best course of action to update and modernise the existing building.

It was decided that Dave and Kieren would work together on devising a plan to replace the roof, renovate the walls, toilets, electrics and heating systems. This was to include costings and materials to be used as well as local authority planning permission.

John Leech is going to supply the group with a list of possible funding sources and try to involve a structural surveyor to ensure there are no hidden structural problems lurking with the building.
Although if anyone knows of anyone who is a structural engineer I would be grateful if you could contact me, likewise if anyone is interested in becoming in the project do get intouch(Craig Bower).

Next supportors meeting is on 30th March 2009 in the Didsbury Pub 7.30PM upstairs.

Thanks for everyones support.

Craig Bower (Scout Leader).
